- Customers Airline Zone
- THAI Cargo & Alliance Zone
There will be areas for handling inbound and outbound cargo separately within each zone.
- And the last zone is Perishable Centre which will be temperature controlled.
The concept of handling cargo under one roof will enable us to render our customers' conveniences and speedy services delivery.
- Domestic Cargo Terminal Area : 10,600 square meters.
- The design is in harmony with the international cargo terminal which is also in harmony with all Thai Airways buildings at Suvarnabhumi Airport in the big picture.
Domestic Cargo Terminal is located near other activities premises 0utside of Customs Free Zone, of course.
The design Capacity of Domestic Cargo Terminal ;
- Phase I : 88,500 tons/year (Year 2005-2009)
- Phase II : 117,800 tons/year (Year 2010-2014)
The size of domestic cargo terminal is 117m x 150m
To support the cargo handling under Free Zone environment, our IT Systems - ORCHIDS will be modified to link with the system of Free zone Operator. We also enhance our system for handling efficient and speedy services. All were done to satisfy our customers.
The Bar Code System will be introduced to ensure reliable service and time saving for our customers.
There will be 2 new ETV-Elevated Transfer Vehicles. One will be located in customer airline zone and the other will be located in THAI Cargo & alliance zone. Both are capable to handle all types of ULDs.
The ULDs storage, together with the retrieval automatic system, will ensure efficiency, safety and time saving.
Transfer Vehicle or TV will be equipped with weighing scale. The transfer of ULDs will be more efficient and flexible.
Empty ULDs will be stored indoor on the mezzanine floor at both ends of the terminal.
The Empty ULDs System will provide efficient storage and retrieval of ULD for the customers.
Lowerable Work Stations / Loading Pit
These workstations are in the ULDs Handling system and can be used to build up /breakdown cargo safely. Thus, the quality of services and speed will be improved significantly.
Automated Storage and Retrieval System - AS/RS will be installed to accommodate mainly inbound medium- size shipments after sorting. Both customer airlines and THAI Cargo zones will be equipped with AS/RS. The AS/RS will enable us to fully utilize warehouse space and increase efficiency. Consequently, we will able to provide our valued customers the best services.
Build up and break down of cargo can be done by the use of Mobile Work stations within designated areas. This will give us flexibility to handle cargo according to the work load.
Small or mini shipments are stored in a special assigned location so that it will be easy to handle separately.
Pallet Transporters (Donkey)
are used to move the pallets or containers without using a forklift. For safety of both personnel and cargo shipments, the pallet transporters will be used within mobile workstations area.
Cool Room / Cold Room / Freezer
are installed both in the ULD Handling System (ETV) and in the suitable areas in the terminal. This is to ensure that the temperature sensitive shipments either in ULD or loose cargo are handled properly. The lowest temperature can be set at minus 25 degree Celsius.
Perishable Center
The temperature in the Perishable center can be varied from 5 to 20 degree Celsius to support varieties of shipments that required different temperature. To ensure that they will be fresh all the way to the destinations, the perishable cargo will be stored until they will be dispatched to the aircraft.
Any cargo shipment can be X-ray for securities.
- Loose shipment or plate built up X-ray machine
- Pallet and Container X-ray machine for through unit loaded can be checked before loading into the aircraft. The container can be scanned at one time and the result will be shown as an image.
All warehouse areas are monitored around the clock including airside area adjacent to the terminal. This is to ensure maximum security for our operation. More than 100 security guards are on duty at various key locations 24 hrs.
The walk-thru metal detectors also has been installed to detect suspected material for all personnel before entering the warehouse area.
