Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special offer to reward cargo customers with “50 Miles for every THB 50,000 Spent,” valid from today until 31 July 2010. Mr. Pichai Chunganuwad, THAI Managing Director of Cargo & Mail Commercial Department, said that the “Together … We Go Forever. 50 Years. THB 50,000. 50 Miles” program provides special advantages to THAI Cargo customers through the Royal Orchid Plus mileage accrual program. The project aims to promote inbound and outbound cargo sales, at all 12 stations that THAI has served since 1960, which are Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Phnom Penh, Jakarta, Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Rangoon, Kolkata and Hong Kong. THAI’s customers may obtain 50 privilege miles for every THB 50,000 spent for cargo shipments to and from these 12 cities. The privilege points accumulation program is valid for a 3-month period, starting from THAI’s 50th Anniversary on 1 May 2010 to 31 July 2010. THAI Cargo is ready to cope with the present political unrest
Due to the present unpredictable political unrest from anti-government protesters, THAI Cargo has implemented a contingency plan to cope with any possible interference that might have a direct impact to our cargo and mail operations.
In order to deal with the situation efficiently, THAI Cargo has established a Cargo Crisis Operation Center (CCOC), at THAI Cargo Terminal in the Customs Free Zone (Building2), Suvarnabhumi Airport. The CCOC serves as control center to manage any situation arises from the unrest in order to prevent interruption to our operation and with minimum impact to our customer. The CCOC operates 24 hours, starting from 17:00PM on Thursday 11th March, 2010.
