ABOUT THAI CARGO

“To be an Integrated Logistics Hub In Asia that Customers Trust”

"เพื่อเป็นศูนย์กลางโลจิสติกส์แบบบูรณาการในภูมิภาคเอเชียที่ลูกค้าไว้วางใจ"

The Cargo and Mail Commercial at Suvarnabhumi Airport offers one of the most up-to-date technologies and services in this region.  Using Custom Free Zone management system to provide safe and secure services while ensuring fast and effective handling, we support import and export operators as well as industries who strengthen Thai economy to gain benefits on taxation for imported goods at the Customer Free Zone area. The system helps reduce customs procedures and speed up the transfer and tax processes to improve businesses’ competitive advantage over other countries which in turn promotes the export industry.

Over 3,800 million baht were spent to build a 22-meter high warehouse with an area of 90,000 square meters. This warehouse is considered the largest available area compared to any other one-story warehouse in this region, providing storage area for all kinds of commodities ranging from general goods, heavy goods, dangerous goods and valuable goods to live animals, and mails. Experienced staff is hired to take care of each commodity. The warehouse can accommodate more than 1.2 million tons of good per annum, with investment of 1,200 million baht allocated for systems and equipment, and 250 million baht for Information Technology in order to maintain the position as the leader in this business for 50 years. With over 65 per cent market share, Cargo and Mail Commercial provides services for over 70 partners and customer airlines, transferring around 900,000 tons of commodities for over 50,000 flights per annum.
THAI’s Cargo and Mail Commercial offers both domestic and international warehouses which are built on an area of 18,000 square meters and 90,000 square meters respectively. Both warehouses are fully equipped to provide complete services to all customers such as Perishable Center, express cargo area, and mail handling warehouse. Covering an area of 10,000 square meters, the perishable center is the one and only center in Asia to offer the largest temperature controlled area where each section can be adjusted specifically according to the type of commodity to maintain freshness of agricultural products prior to transportation. The computerized Elevated Transfer Vehicle system allows commodities to be transferred both in horizontal and vertical planes which is the most essential quality for air transportation system. In addition, Unit Load Devices (ULDs) will be installed in the warehouses to increase safety during transportation so will the Roller Conveyor system to facilitate transport of large-size commodities. The system enables THAI to accommodate the transfer of already-packed commodities in the loader of each unit forwarded by import-export operators to aircraft.
In order to ensure the highest standard of safety and security, two special pallet-size x-ray machines are installed in addition to 12 standard x-ray machines. The special units have a tunnel-like shape of 3.0 meters high and 3.6 meters wide allowing each pallet on roller conveyor to pass through. There are various programs available for checking a variety of commodities plus digital zoom that can determine the depth of inspection at different levels in greater details with the ability to scan well through a 2-c.m. thick metal sheet.
The Cargo and Mail Commercial Department is ISO 9001:2008 and IATA AHM 804 certified with potential to deliver great services. With efficient warehouse management system and more than 2,000 highly skilled personnel as well as sophisticated safety system, we are certain that this would give the thrust to the development and promotion of Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Thai’s air cargo industry to become a true air cargo hub of Southeast Asia.

IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO)

THAI Cargo joined ISAGO program since 2019 and

the new ISAGO certificate is valid from 29SEP2019 to 29SEP2021.

Background: ISAGO could be accepted as “one mean of compliance”

IATA's Safety Audit of Ground Operations (ISAGO) program is an internationally recognized system for assessing the operational management and control systems of an organization that provides ground handling services for airlines.

ISAGO Recommended Practices are specified systems, policies, programs, processes, procedures, plans, sets of measures, facilities, components, types of equipment or any other aspects of ground operations under the audit scope of ISAGO that are considered operationally desirable, but conformity is optional by a provider.

With the growth of air traffic, airport operations have become increasingly complex. More and larger aircraft, an increase in ground support equipment and faster turnaround times all contribute to the challenge of improving operational safety.

In response to this complex ground operations environment,

THAI Cargo has formed ISAGO audit pool members under the following benefits of joining

  • Reduction in the number of redundant audits
  • More efficient processes and improvement of quality standard
  • Better understanding of high-risk areas within ground operations
  • Lower risks of ground damage
  • Reduction of incidents and accidents
  • Fewer injuries to personnel
  • A quality control check performed on every report prior to sharing it with Pool members
  • Implementation of a standardized ISAGO checklist developed and updated by IATA in cooperation with the industry Task Force
  • Quality assurance oversight performed by IATA to ensure a consistent approach to auditing
“On the whole, THAI Cargo is also certified from CAAT as Regulated Agent as well as Suvarnabhumi Airport, Chiang Mai and Phuket International Airport as RA3 and ACC3.”

IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA)
THAI Cargo joined IOSA program since 2004 and the new IOSA certificate is valid from 25NOV2019 to 28MAY2022.
The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.
IOSA uses internationally recognized quality audit principles and is designed to conduct audits in a standardized and consistent manner. It was created in 2003 by IATA to date.
The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) is designed to assess the operational management and control systems of airlines. IOSA Standards review process covers operations in all areas, including Organization and Management Systems (ORG), Flight Operations (FLT), Operations Control and Flight Dispatch (DSP), Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance (MNT), Cabin Operations (CAB), Aircraft Ground Operations (GRH), Cargo Operations (CGO) and Operational Security (SEC)
THAI Cargo (TG) has received IOSA certificate for a period of 2 years following an audit carried out by an organization accredited by IATA.
