THAI Cooperates with DITP To Export Thai Mango to South Korea
Mr. Somdet Susomboon, Director-General, Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, presided over the delivery of special grade Nam Dok Mai Mango to South Korea with Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) flights. Mr. Khemkhaeng Yuttithamdamrong, Director-General, Department of Agricultural Extension (DoAE), Ministry of Agriculture and cooperatives, Mr. Suvadhana Sibunruang, THAI Executive Vice President, Aviation Business Unit, and honorable guests also attended the ceremony at the THAI Cargo, Free Zone, Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Mr. Suvadhana Sibunruang, THAI Executive Vice President, Aviation Business Unit, said that due to the higher freight fee caused by the lack of freight capacity after the Covid-19 outbreak last year, the export of Thai agricultural products crops especially fruits were affected. THAI cooperates with DITP and DoAE to support export of Thai fruits by signing contracts with Profreight Group, logistic service provider, and Swift Company Limited, a Thai fruit retailer and exporter. A total of 260 tonnes of Nam Dok Mai mango will be transported to Incheon, South Korea, through 13 THAI flights operated with Boeing 777-300ER; 20 tonnes carried in each flight.
THAI prepares to operate cargo flights to export Thai fruits to countries such as South Korea, Japan, and China to support entrepreneurs as well as to enhance image and confidence towards Thai products, which will bring the expansion of Thai trade and economy in the future.
